Created by Jim Hanon, “The Making Of Christmas” is a former ad guy’s journey to rediscover the humanity of God with us, beyond the God-shaped things or ideas that are often sold to us. Filmed primarily in New England – and featuring Rockport’s Christmas Pageant and The First Congregational Church – over five Christmas seasons, the film highlights local expressions of historical Christmas traditions. Weaving medieval-style animations with contemporary cinematography, the story explores the scriptural references of Jesus before and after his birth, and reflects on what it means for Jesus to be born not only in a manger but also in our hearts.
